Breaking news......... It has been released today that in parts of Manchester, police will now be walking our streets armed with guns, and not content with having plain old semi automatic pistols, our police has outdone most of our European partners, by giving ours HK MP5's to walk the streets. Although I believe this is only in Manchester currently, I cannot believe this has been slipped through in such a manner, it is an issue often discussed in the past by all those involved, and Im sure many will be deeply shocked by this announcement, even many police. More ARV's would be a wiser choice, there to backup their street counterparts but without guns actually on the street at all times. Especially with all the current armed police issues in the UK, shooting people with imitations, swords etc., and then the pain for the armed policeman(SO19), who not only have to deal with the mental pain of killing people (sometimes innocent) but then also get accused of bad practice etc. This country is so not ready to be arming its street police, it has many issues it could currently deal with, and one of them is certainly not separating themselves from the public with fine HK engineering.Hippy||DUTA|| on Tuesday, 30 April 2002, 14:21:13 Comments are turned off for this item   |
